Bill: ​​There are companies doing amazing things on climate today. Buying clean energy, investing billions in climate solutions. The thing most of them are not doing is speaking up on climate policy.

Ethan: That's Bill Weihl [while], Executive Director of ClimateVoice; a non profit organization that mobilizes the voices of workers to urge their companies to go “all in” on climate, through business practices and policy advocacy.

Bill: We're calling on the big US tech companies to make climate one of their top advocacy priorities and devote one in five of their lobbying dollars to policies that will keep warming below 1.5 degrees. 

Ethan: So far, big tech has only devoted about 4% of their federal lobbying activity in the US to climate-related policies.

Bill: People have given up at some level on government policy. They need to understand how problematic total silence by companies is. Policy is a really important part of the solution. We need to mobilize every ounce of political influence and build the broadest coalition we can find to get bills passed.
